The University of Missouri’s newest dining hall, The Restaurants at Southwest, offers a wide range of dining options in a new 581-seat facility as part of the Dobbs residence hall replacement project.
The Restaurants at Southwest is a new 581-seat dining venue constructed as part of the Dobbs Residence Hall replacement project, also designed by KWK. The project has achieved LEED Platinum certification (v2009).
Connected to New Hall, The Restaurants at Southwest opened in August 2017. Unlike the traditional buffet style of most dining halls, Southwest is comprised of multiple restaurant style options. The new seven-venue facility includes six À la carte restaurants and a Starbucks coffee shop.
Options include Legacy Grill, serving burgers, quesadillas, and fresh-cut fries; rotisserie chicken and steel-cut oatmeal at 1839 Kitchen; select-your-own pasta at Olive & Oil; sandwiches at Tiger Avenue Deli; salads and other healthy fare as well as vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-friendly food at 1*5*3 Salads and Soups; and smoothies, pastries, and other desserts at Truffles.
“It’s a beautiful facility and is going to have a lot of variety, options. The décor highlights Mizzou history with a modern touch,” said Michael Wuest of Campus Dining Services.
