Fort Hays State University - Wiest Replacement Residence Hall & Dining Center
The 50-year old Wiest Hall is being replaced with a new 400-bed residence hall and adjoining 250-seat dining center. The new residence hall supports a thriving living-learning community; the dining center is designed with five venues in a POD concept with multiple seating spaces, including a 40-seat public/private dining room. A separate entrance is provided for residents of other halls.
The building opens to the north and south with large storefront windows. Exterior materials respond to the campus context and incorporate native Kansas limestone.
