Saint Louis University - Student Housing Master Plan

KWK Architects was a member of Brailsford & Dunlavey’s team to develop a comprehensive student housing master plan for Saint Louis University.

The team identified market demand for student housing, assessed current facilities, and produced strategic recommendations for additional on-campus student housing.

The plan included an analysis of demographic trends and the competitive landscape of the off-campus housing market. It also captured housing preferences for both on- and off-campus students.  The team gathered input from administrators, students, and staff, and conducted student focus group interviews to understand housing experiences. An online survey tested student satisfaction levels with current housing and demand for new housing. Results of the competitive context and off-campus market analyses illustrated the university's position relative to its peers in terms of housing costs, amenities, and occupancy. The team then developed a model projecting the need for new housing in various unit configurations.

KWK's role included building assessment, programming and schematic design for potential renovation and construction of new housing to support the university’s goals and objectives.
